After serving Metro City for 6 years, Mr. Amazing suddenly died following the Case of the Wall Street Slayer. After being captured by Mr. Amazing and charged with the abduction, abuse and murder of several children from an impoverished neighborhood, Jeff Damon, the Wall Street Slayer achieved a not guilty verdict at trial despite a preponderance of evidence against him. An outraged media was quick to blame Mr. Amazing for not testifying at trial, but many legal experts and even the prosecution agreed it probably would not have affected the outcome.
A few days later, Jeff Damon’s body was found in his penthouse apartment, burnt and electrocuted. Fearing that Mr. Amazing was taking the law into his own hands, a further outraged public demanded justice. Meanwhile Congress debated and ultimately passed the “Vigilante Eradication Act”, which charged the FBI and the US Military with capturing or killing any known vigilantes and gave them the power to impose martial law in areas where vigilantes operated.
Then Mr. Amazing died …
Or did he?
